It was a rather uneventful week here due to several days of wet weather. We needed te rain as the forest in our area was getting quite dry. However, the week ended with nice comfortable sunny days on Friday and Saturday.
This week the last group of annoying flies appeared. The house flies can be the most problem ones for the dogs as they will cluster on the dogs ears and bite. They will clear the fur of the dogs ears and draw blood. Not all the dogs are affected by them fortunately. The ones that are, we apply a product called Swat and it will keep the flies off the dogs ears for several days before needing to reapply. The product comes in two colors, clear and pink. We prefer the pink, as it is easy to see when the product needs to be reapplied.
The dog I would like to introduce this week is Bergen. She came here the spring of 2013 and spent all last season running here on my Open Team.
Bergen is a leader and does a good job up at that position. However, she doesn't have the confidence to be the main leader in the race team. It was for this reason , that we acquired Roxy (a proven race leader) to give the support to Bergen and couple of other young leaders in the kennel.
Bergen is a very versatile dog that will run in any position im the team. She is very enthusiastic runner and a solid performer. She will be one of the ten females on the Open Team this year.
In the kennel, she is a big pet loving all the attention you are willing to give her.
Bergen will be a big part of this years Open Teams success.
