"ANOTHER SNOWY WEEK HERE IN THE NORTHERN FOREST!"
Picture
After last weeks snow fall, warm weather returned and melted most of the new snow. That is until Tuesday night, the snow returned and when finished left over one foot of fresh, wet snow (as you can see in the photo)
This year seems to be a Winter that will never end! This snow was so deep & wet , it was very difficult to plow out. But, I did!
The dogs are totally confused. Some are happy, others fed up with it.
This week, Tony & Cobalt were bred and if we are lucky, we should see puppies around the 25th of June.
I would like to wish everyone a happy Easter and welcome the Spring rebirth of Mother Earth. I saw some trees staring to bud yesterday.
To celebrate today, I am going to BBQ a smoked shoulder of pork! I can think of no better way celebrate natures rebirth!
Until next week........

" IT'S BACK! THE SNOW HAS RETURNED TO THE NORTHERN FOREST."
Picture
Yes, the snow has returned & for a second time this week.
Twice this week, I have had go up on the roof of the chalet to clean the wet snow off the Satellite Dishes for communication.
This photo,of the kennel, was taken this morning around 8am from the roof.
The snow started early last evening and has not quit as of 10am this morning. At times last evening, it was  "white out" conditions. Wouldn't you know it, I am scheduled to remove the Winter Tires Monday Morning!
During the week, the Snowmobile was put away for the season, the ATV's readied.
GO FIGURE, THE SNOW WOULD RETURN!
However, the dogs were enjoying playing in the new snow. At least, someone is happy.
WARNING! The lakes look frozen across, but that is very misleading. Last week, I could see thin ice & open water along the shoreline.
Until next week.......

" A CRAZY & WACKY WEEK HERE IN THE NORTHERN FOREST!"
Picture
The look on Tanya's face says it all!
It was a crazy week week here weather wise with an all night rain on Monday, snow on Tuesday and sunny warm days for the rest of the week.
With the warm weather for the last half of the week, the snow is slowly disappearing along with the ice in the plowed areas. The lake is still frozen across. However, the ice is dangerous & certainly not safe to be on.
The dogs are getting used to their "off time" and starting to settle in to the relaxation with the warmer temperatures. However, some have decided to do house repairs/renovations that are not exactly welcomed.
Clean up of kennel continues with the melt, straw from last winter is now visible around some of the dog houses and is easily raked up.
This week, it will be time to put the skidoo away and get the ATV ready for use this Spring/Summer/Fall.
Until next week........

"SPRING WEATHER IN THE NORTHERN FOREST!"
Picture
It was a beautiful spring week here at Lac Charland with warm sunny days and just below freezing at night. With all the sun shine this week, the snow is disappearing rapidly.
Lizzy is giving an intense look at some action across from her. However, this photo is deceiving. She looks calm & still here, however if not taking a still photo from my Flip Video Camera, I would have never been able to capture this pose. When I am in the kennel, she never stands still to be photographed.
This week the dogs just relaxed, enjoyed the warm weather and absorbed all the attention from me while I was in the kennel.
I hope your week was as enjoyable!
until next week......
