"Life Is Simple In The Northern Forest!

Even in the darkest of sunsets there is a beauty here and the next morning a new days begins.
It seems Fall is quickly approaching. The Fireweed is turning to silk and the Hummingbirds are busy feeding to prepare them for their migration.
The seeding of the Fireweed is forecasting the first snow is six weeks away.
Last years puppies have grown into beautiful, athletic Yearlings giving great promise of an exciting future of running.
The last Handler/Trainee position here has been filled and everything is set for another adventurous season to come.
As you can see from the above photos, there is still some dog houses needing to be repaired before the coming Winter.
All will happen in due coarse.
The world here is unfolding as it should.

"A Great Week here In The Northern Forest!"

It has been a busy week here visiting with friends, dinning out, dinning in, beautiful scenery and of coarse dogs!
What more could one ask for!!!
Last night a Full Moon and it's reflexion on the lake was magnificent!
Life here can be very simple and uncomplicated.
As you can see from the photos, some of the dogs have been very busy with their construction/renovation projects, this leaving me with a few repairs before Winter.
Oh yes, some of the Birch Trees Foliage is starting to change colour.
An indication that Fall is not that far away.
Soon training will commence for another season.
As you can see from the photos of Levi, last years puppies have grown into very athletic specimens.
Tall, Slim and Built for Speed!!!
More photos of the puppies,now yearlings, to follow in the upcoming weeks.

"Incredible Sunrises, Rainy Days, Beautiful Sunsets And Great Food,All In The Northern Forest!"

It was another great week here at Miortuk.
It started on Saturday evening dinner with my friends, Phil and Gary, having an appetiser of breaded calamari with a home made tangy sauce and then a gigantic, gourmand burger with all the garnish.
Then, the Sunday morning sunrise (5 am).
A rainy Friday and of coarse some incredible sunsets.
All of this and some great time spent in the kennel with my canine family.
Every other day, I have to move a few of the dog houses, as the dogs love digging holes and then the houses fall in them.
I never fill in the holes, for when they dig new ones they fill in the old.
It is a game!
Even though we are still experiencing hot/humid weather, the annoying flies and mosquitoes are almost gone and are not bothersome.
Still have an opening for one more Handler/Trainee for this season.

"The 2016/17 Running Season Is Quickly Approaching In The Northern Forest!"

We are already into August, it is hard to beleave the the Summer is already 1/2 over!
But, as you can see from the above photos, it has been another spectacular week of great viewing of the nature here.
From calm/sunny mornings, incredible sunsets and even stormy weather, the forest is a great place to live!
I was also able to capture a photo of regular morning visitor here having its breakfast!
It is not shy or even afraid. As a matter of fact, very bold.
It drives the dogs crazy and in particular Blue.
Lucky for the rabbit than the dogs are restrained from chasing it.
I am sure, it relishes the fact that is teasing them.
It is a big game!!
The week ended in stormy weather and of coarse another hydro outage.
This time for only 4 hours!
Annoying, but normal!
However, the forest needed the water and other than the hydro situation, it is great to watch and enjoy the fresh smells resulting from the rain.
