This week has had its share of rain with the best being from Saturday night through today. The forest is dry and this rain is helping to dampen things up.
The dogs have enjoyed the cooler evening temperatures and have been more active playing in the kennel with their fellow team mates. This includes chasing the Butterflies, which should be just about finished for another year.
The hunting dog crosses love the chase!
Just now, I had some visitors stop by after they had just rescued a puppy that was abandoned by a garbage dump along the side of the Manuwan Road. The puppy looks to be around 5 to 6 weeks old. Luckily for the pup it has found a good home with some very caring people.
I really can't understand the cruelty that someone would display by abandoning such a beautiful being!
Unfortunately this happens all too often!
The dog, I would like to introduce this week is Hurit. She is Hok'ee's sister from the Tony/Cobalt breeding.
I apologize for the photos, as they are not the best, but Hurit is very difficult to photograph as she is constantly moving or laying down whenever she sees a camera.
Hurit was a slow starter in her yearling year. However, last year she matured into an incredible dog. Starting her season one position up from Wheel, she rapidly progressed to different positions in the team up to Point. She spent most of the season excelling at that position. She even ran Lead finishing a training run towards the end of the season.
Hurit will get some race experience this season running on Cecile's Six Dog Racing Team. I expect her to be supper sled dog.
Until next week........
