Due to conditions here, we were only able to get in two days of training.
This week was quality runs verses quantity.
Both teams are running great and rotating leaders on each run is giving experience to all the young leaders. They are all performing above my expectations for this time of year. Little Kira is a very focused Leader and not distracted when passing other teams, vehicles and wildlife. I am very impressed with her progress and can see her self-esteem improving with each run.
The puppies are growing and getting very active. This week, I was able to place two of them in the kennel as the Puppy Pen was getting too small for the six puppies. Levis and Libby were the two that went into the kennel and settled in with no drama. I couldn't beleave how easily they settled into their new environment. We had the other four on the truck drop chains and then running loose with our supervision. Next week the other four will be introduced to the kennel. It is hard to beleave how quickly they have grown up.
This litter seems to be very intelligent and with great physical structure. Probably one of the best litters bred and raised here. I am really looking foreword to harness training them when they are older.
With the storms that passed through here with strong winds, we lost our hydro for eight hours Friday and had to cut fallen trees that were across the trail both days of training before we could run.
Cecile was here visiting for the last couple of weeks and heads back to France today with two of her favourite dogs, Sophie and Cosmos.
Well, what adventures will another week present!
Until next week.....
