This was another week with abnormal weather: hot humid on Monday/Tuesday, Wednesday rain, Thursday/Friday sunny and Saturday a mix of clouds with sunny breaks.
We were lucky, as on Wednesday there were bad storms and also a tornado south/west of here, only receiving some rain accompanied by strong winds.
The flies, mosquitoes were bothersome through the first half of the week. However, the strong winds on Thursday/Friday were a blessing as they kept the flies at bay making for very pleasant conditions working in the kennel
This week, Kira decided to not eat for four days causing concern. On the fifth day she decided to eat and is now back to normal. We figure that she was getting to heavy and that combines with the heat/humidity, Kira decided to regulate her diet. Dogs are sometimes smarter than us humans!
Today is the Summer Solstice, 21st of June.
Welcome to Summer 2014!
This week, I would like to introduce Merry. She was one of the Hobbit Litter (Bella/Indy).
Merry is an independent female with a loving personality. She ran all of last season displaying a willing personality to please. She is very a focused, fast, smooth runner. She shows leader potential and will get regular stints at that position.
Merry will be an integral member of the Open Team this coming season.
