It has been fun watching the dogs reaction seeing Michele again. Especially the Hobbits, as Michele first saw them when they were two days old and spent many hours devoted to their early development.
The dogs, as well as Michele, are enjoying the reunion.
We had a mixed week weather wise with heat/humidity, sun and rain.
We needed the rain as everything is very dry here in the forest. The sunset photos above were taken just after and just before one of the rain storms.
The house flies in the kennel are just about finished for another year. The dogs were not affected this year due to using the Swat Paste as soon as the flies were spotted.
The dog I would like to introduce this week is Teal.
Teal is the second smallest dog in the kennel. But, don't let her size fool you as she has the biggest heart! She is a remarkable dog that gives 100% all the time she is running. She is an incredible performer and will run in any position in the team with the exception of Lead.
When Teal first came here as a yearling, she was very shy and is now very outgoing, loving attention from anybody willing to spend time with her.
Teal is very special to me as team performer and a sweetheart in the kennel.
Teal will again this season be a instrumental member of my Open Team.
It is with great pleasure to announce that Marie Duffy will be joining the Miortuk Team at the end of December to fulfill her dream of spending a Winter with Sled Dogs.
Welcome aboard Marie.
Until next week.......
