" A GOLDEN SUNSET IN THE NORTHERN FOREST! " ![]() A beautiful golden sunset on Sunday evening was a fitting way to start a new week! This week was a mix of sunny & rainy days, ending the week with a severe thunder/lightning storm on Saturday night. The storm had a heavy, driving rain accompanied with strong winds. The high winds knocked down some spruce and birch trees that blocked the small access road. There was no damage around the chalet or the kennel. The dogs enjoyed another relaxing week with the exception of Saturday evening. After feeding the dogs and during clean up, it is a great, relaxing pleasure to spend quality time with dog sitting at their house and petting each and everyone. It is a unbelievable bonding experience spending this time every night after feeding. I can just feel the pressures of the day melt away. Take time to enjoy the world around you. Until next week...... Add Comment Post Title. 06/13/2010
"AS THE NIGHT ENVELOPS THE NORTHERN FOREST!" ![]() The last glimmer of the daylight paints a beautiful panorama of color here at Miortuk. The peace & serenity of isolation of the forest makes living here a marvelous experience. With experiences like this, I certainly don't miss the pettiness of society. This was a quiet week with a little rain and some cooler weather. The immediate threats of forest fires have subsided and thus lowering the stress levels. The dogs are relaxing enjoying the peace and quiet of the forest. I am now going to sit back and prepare for another beautiful sunset. May you also be at peace! Until next week......... " THE BEAUTY OF NATURE RETURNS TO THE NORTHERN FOREST!" ![]() The threat of the forest fires is over with the help of Mother Nature! Rain arrived early last week & continued throughout the week through this weekend and this along with the great work of the fire fighters the pending disaster was diverted. WHAT A RELIEF! The smoke from the fires was very thick last Sunday night into Monday leaving a suffocating effect over the forest. Around 11pm on Sunday evening I was out on my deck and I heard a whimpering coming from the kennel. I went out to investigate thinking one of the dogs was upset. But, to my surprise, all were fine and the whimpering was from just out side the perimeter of the kennel. The distress was from either a lone fox, coyote or a wolf that didn't want to be alone and was seeking the comfort of the company of the dogs. Strangely the dogs sensed the animals distress and didn't make a fuss to allow it the comfort of the pack. It is interesting that animals will show compassion in the time of stress. Would humans do the same? Now you know why I prefer the company of my dogs and the animals of the forest vs humans! Until next week..... |
